“Everyone will have his own pocket telephone that will enable him to get in touch with anyone he wishes. People living in the Wireless Age will be able to go everywhere with their transceivers, which they will be able to affix wherever they like—to their hat, for instance…”
– Robert Sloss: The Wireless Century in “The World in 100 Years,” Berlin 1910

The exhibition, which was on view at the Ars Electronica Center in Linz from June 15, 2010 – July 10, 2011, paid homage to the creativity, courage and ingenuity of those people who have devoted or are devoting their entire personalities, skills and knowledge to a vision of the future. The exhibition looked at a period of 200 years: at visions of the future that were conceived about 100 years ago for our now and at visions that are currently being developed for the next 100 years. Representing all the visionaries and pioneers who have worked on various “futures” throughout human history, the French writer, draftsman and cartoonist Albert Robida (1848-1926) and the Belgian visionary Paul Otlet (1868-1944) were at the center of the exhibition.
