What are new methods and media for thinking deeply about facts and issues – instead of simply consuming news and reacting to them right away? The Ars Electronica Futurelab invited experts from different fields to discuss the “Media of the Future” during the Ars Electronica Festival 2022.

One focus of the Ars Electronica Futurelab is the field of Artistic Journalism: the act of creating social dialogue through artistic expression, investigation, inquiry, and action. To focus on creative questions that artists generate in these uncertain times and envisioning the future through these questions. The symposium features professor Rashin Fahandej (US/IR), journalist Sarah Kriesche (AT), Oishi Nobuyuki (JP) and Takeshi Yamada (JP) from Nikkei Innovation Lab as well as Joanna Wright (GB), artist and documentarian. The discussion is led by Nicolas Naveau, senior researcher and artist at the Ars Electronica Futurelab.
