The painting “Trude Engel” by Egon Schiele from 1912 is one of the masterpieces from the collection of the LENTOS Art Museum. Restorer Andreas Strohhammer tells the exciting story around the emergence of the portrait of the dentist’s daughter and uses Gigapixel photos to highlight what is behind the portrait. Following the Deep Space LIVE at the Ars Electronica Center, the images in the current exhibition 1918 – Klimt · Moser · Schiele can be viewed on-site with a curator’s tour at LENTOS.

An interview with Andreas Strohhammer can be found on the Ars Electronica Blog.
