Have you ever heard of “smart materials”? These materials are called “intelligent” because they can react specifically to their environment and change their state. These adaptive materials are also the subject of research and become “intelligent” or “smart” through additional functions. We can even give “cleverness” to common materials from our everyday life and modify them according to our ideas. This weekend we will “programme” paper and other materials: whether folded in the origami studio, or designed using a laser cutter and 3D printer in the Tools Hub, or connected to a circuit in one of our workshops – paper can be so versatile and “smart”!
