Industrial robot arms normally operate heavy-duty machinery in factories, but in the Robotics Department at Johannes Kepler University it’s done a little differently. Here, researchers look into how robots can be deployed and all the things they’re capable of. Taking creative approaches to these systems often reveals keys to complex issues and new points of view that could later be relevant to industrial applications.

The Robot Cell project entails, among other things, research on robot arms’ fine motor skills. The combination of sensitive gripper arms and intelligent perception enables two industrial robots to solve a Rubik’s Cube within a very short time and with the minimum number of pivots.
