Speaker Dress, the latest in Anouk Wipprecht’s ongoing series of interactive articles of clothing, augments the wearer’s body with sonic features. The front is studded with sensors by means of which music can be composed via hand gestures. The operating system and audio controller are mounted on the back of the dress. The music is played in real time over loudspeakers affixed to the garment’s shoulders. Speaker Dress transforms the body into a mobile hi-fi system that is also capable of composing and producing music autonomously.
