The Living Planet Symposium of the European Space Agency ESA is coming to Austria!
It will take place from 23 to 27 June 2025 at the Austria Center in Vienna and is the world’s largest conference on Earth observation, climate and environmental protection and sustainability.
Our offer for teachers, educators and students
This leading conference on Earth observation, which is held every three years, is steadily growing in size and importance. In light of the worsening climate crisis, the focus of this year’s symposium is on the transition from observation to climate protection and sustainability for the Earth.
It is important to us and ESA Education that teachers, educators and students also have access to this important event.
For students aged 10 and over, we offer workshops, lectures, shows, etc. in German and also in English.
The exact dates and all other details are still being finalised and will follow shortly. If you are interested, we will be happy to make a note of you and contact you as soon as the programme has been finalised.
I am interested in the Living Planet Symposium and would like to get in touch!
What’s it all about
This symposium brings together scientists and researchers from around the world to share and discuss the latest developments in Earth and observation technology.
Data from satellites orbiting our planet is essential for the advancement of Earth science, which in turn provides sound evidence for environmental and climate policies.
For pupils and students, the symposium is an important place to learn and participate in experiments.
In addition to presentations and discussions, this event also offers teachers and students valuable insights into our rapidly changing world and the tools to better protect it. They will also have the opportunity to get to know the space industry in and around Austria and explore concepts of the ‘New Space’, such as digital transformation and the commercialisation of space travel.
The Living Planet Symposium 2025 promises all this and more – and will take you on a journey from Earth observation to climate protection and sustainability for our planet. Ultimately, the demand for satellite data is also growing rapidly to support applications that enrich your daily life and that of your students.
