Wenn KünstlerInnen, WissenschaftlerInnen und wissenschaftliche Forschungseinrichtungen in gemeinsamen Projekten zusammenarbeiten, führt die Kollision von Methoden oft zu neuen und spannenden Perspektiven für die künstlerische und wissenschaftliche Praxis. Nehmen Sie an dieser STARTS-Networking-Veranstaltung teil, bei der die KünstlerInnen Robertina Šebjanič und Gjino Šutić, die Medientheoretikerin Ingeborg Reichle und der Wissenschaftler Michael Sauer über ihre Erfahrungen in der interdisziplinären Arbeit sprechen. Diese Veranstaltung bietet einen offenen Raum für Diskussionen mit den vier Experten sowie für den Austausch von Erkenntnissen aus Ihrer eigenen Praxis und Ihren eigenen Projekten.

Biografie
Ingeborg Reichle (DE) is Professor of Media Theory at the Department of Media Theory, University of Applied Arts Vienna. Her main focus of research and teaching is the encounter of the arts with cutting-edge technologies and global challenges. She is the co-founder of the German Association for Interdisciplinary Image Science (Deutsche Gesellschaft für interdisziplinäre Bildwissenschaft), and an active member of the U.S. College Art Association (CAA) and the International Association of Bioethics (IAB).
Robertina Šebjanič (SI) is an internationally exhibited artist. Her artistic work deals with cultural, (bio)political and ecological realities of aquatic environments. With her projects she tackles the philosophical questions at the intersection of art, technology and science. Her projects are often realized in collaboration with others, through interdisciplinary and informal integration in her work. https://robertina.net/
Michael Sauer (AT) is Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology at BOKU – University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. He is an industrial microbiologist focused on sustainable microbial chemical production. His research is based on exploring biodiversity to find nature’s answers to industrial problems, combined with synthetic biology to augment the capabilities of microorganisms, when required.
