lovesmenot ist Teil einer fortlaufenden Reihe von Automata, die unsere Beziehung zu Maschinen und die Absurdität der Überautomatisierung hinterfragen. In dieser Arbeit zupft eine Maschine nacheinander die Blütenblätter einer Margerite und sucht nach Antworten auf eine Frage, die dem Betrachter niemals offenbart wird.

Sound artwork that combines three installations located physically in the public space of Wrocław. One of them is the plane tree, which was featured as the central component of the installation E.D.E.N. by Olga Kisseleva displayed at the Four Domes Pavilion during the 18th Media Art Biennale WRO 2019 CZYNNIK LUDZKI|HUMAN ASPECT.

Mechanical Garden after Tytus Czyżewski

Interactive installation inspired by visual poem Ogród Mechaniczny (Mechanical Garden”) by Tytus Czyżewski (1922) re-created in a contemporary medium (software). The work touches on issues of conditional arts, synthetic nature and the relation of art, nature and technology in general. Ogród Mechaniczny is a multiuser installation based on motion tracking, transforming the “frozen” image by Czyżewski into an amorphous, interactive and playable situation.

Die Video Installation “Derotation” zeigt ein Video eines stetig rotierenden Windrades auf einem Bildschirm, der sich in derselben Geschwindigkeit in die entgegengesetzte Richtung dreht. Die Drehung des Windrades, die der Stromerzeugung dient, wird visuell von einem Motor gestoppt, der dafür bekannt ist, Strom zu verbrauchen. Ein weiteres Beispiel für Ressourcenverschwendung in der Medienkunst?

Zugzwang erprobt, ob der Einsatz von Technologie helfen kann, Menschen wieder auf ihre Artgenossen und Umwelt einzustimmen. Geräusche sind allgegenwärtig, trotzdem haben wir Probleme sie zu verstehen. Missverständnisse und Verzerrungen kommen ständig vor. Kann Zuhören wieder zu einer der wichtigsten Fähigkeiten werden, um von der Umwelt zu lernen?

"Politische Atmosphäre" ist eine Erlebnisinstallation, die die unsichtbaren Zusammenhänge zwischen Flugturbulenzen, Klimawandel und Krieg verstärkt. Sie besteht aus einer datengesteuerten mechanischen Sirene und einer ADS-B-Antenne, die es ermöglicht, den umgebenden Flugverkehr zu empfangen, zu verarbeiten und zu visualisieren. Jeder Flug beschleunigt langsam den latenten Aufbau von Potential, bis eine Schwelle überschritten wird und ein Mechanismus die Sirene auslöst.

The artists in this exhibition work with blood and chlorophyll to investigate the connections between human and plant life. They use microbial cultures, robotic clams and sensors to demonstrate the contamination of the oceans; or apply AI algorithms so that something as innocent as a flower can visualize financial speculation. They also engage with the new icons, practices and virtual devices that define the increasingly polarized and radicalized scenarios of online social and cultural ecosystems.

Chronicles of an Art and Science Collaboration, Otaniemi-Espoo, Finland

The project highlights the use of autoethnographic narrative as tool for artistic and design research. It brings together self-reflections from three scientists who participated in an art and science collaboration dealing with the use of bio-cellulose for art and design purposes. Through their stories we learn about what inspired them to follow careers in science and how the making of a contribution to sustainability and the good of humankind sustains their work objectives.
