Betrachtet man die Geschichte der digitalen Kunst von den 1960er-Jahre bis hin zu aktuellen immersiven digitalen Kunstinstallationen, die schnell eine enorme Fangemeinde generieren und als kommerziell erfolgreich gelten, stellt sich die Frage, ob die digitale Kunst zum Mainstream wurde. Das Panel diskutiert, was künstlerische Produktion digitaler Kunst für die KünstlerInnen selbst sowie Museen und SammlerInnen in Bezug auf Ausstellungsgestaltung, Sammlung und Archivierung bedeutet.

Christina Steinbrecher-Pfandt is an art world professional with over a decade of experience in the art industry. In 2019, Steinbrecher-Pfandt co-founded blockchain.art with Micha Benoliel in San Francisco. She was the director of Art Moscow Art Fair and, recently, viennacontemporary. She has curated and directed projects throughout Europe and the world including, Venice Biennale, Moscow Biennale. She is an advisor to the Ars Electronica Gallery Spaces and sits on the boards of several art institutions.

Sergiu Ardelean is a serial entrepreneur from Austria who building a successful Augmented Reality agency in Vienna which served clients such as Volkswagen and Audi in 42 countries.
Now Sergiu is working on a StartUp that envisions the combination of haptic and digital art through augmented reality. Artivive has now offices in Europe, US and China and is by 20.000 artists in 92 countries. The projects with world-famous museum and galleries in Vienna, Munich, San-Francisco, Seoul and Shanghai show that the art scene is ready for the new dimensions augmented art can bring.

Hemma Schmutz (AT)
Studied art history and German philology/literature in Vienna. From 1998 to 2005 on the team of Generali Foundation in Vienna and co-curator of numerous exhibition projects. Lectured at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, the Art University in Linz and the University of Technology in Vienna. From 2005 to 2013 director of Salzburg Kunstverein, 2014 free-lance curator, author and lecturer at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. From 2015 to 2017 curator of Kunstraum Lakeside in Klagenfurt. Since 2017 director of the LENTOS and Nordico museums in Linz.

Taihei Shii (JP)
Born in 1977. Spent his childhood in US. Graduated from Tama Art University in 2001. Taught as an Adjunct Professor in Tokyo University of the Arts. Has been a modern artist himself, with his focus theme of “Art in Internet Age”. M.S. in The University of Tokyo Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies. Explained the initial plan of „Startbahn“ at a talk event in 2006, acquired regarded patents in Japan and US. Established Startbahn Inc, in 2014. Startbahn is planning to publish its global release of Art Blockchain Network (ABN), a blockchain-based shared registry and trading infrastructure for artworks, in this Autumn.
