For this exhibition, Günther Friesinger provides us with four AI-generated portraits of Aaron Swartz that he created for the AARON’s:LAW exhibition at Schloss Wolkersdorf. The images are inspired by a personal encounter with Aaron Swartz at one of the early Arse Elektronika conferences in San Francisco. The festival focuses on sex and technology. The artworks also refer to a blog Aaron wrote in 2009 entitled Why I Am Not Gay, which was discussed in the comments.
Günther Friesinger is a philosopher, artist, open access activist, and member of the globally networked art and theory group monochrom. Together with Johannes Grenzfurthner he curates the Arse Elektronika festival, an initiative by monochrom, that deals with the interplay of sex and technology and was held in San Francisco from 2007 to 2015. This year it will take place at the Ars Electronica in Linz under the title Sexponential.
