After five days of fascinating media art, infectious performances and concerts, and educational presentations and conferences, the 2016 Ars Electronica Festival is coming to an end. Music Monday is the last day of the festival and lets the visitors enjoy the many exhibitions and projects one last time.

POSTCITY is opening its enormous doors again this Monday for visitors to have a final look at the festival. Over the weekend, 85.000 people have enjoyed the varied offer of media art. Here, alchemists of our time, artists, and scientists are exhibiting their ideas and how they tackle questions of the future.

They are not the only ones reflecting on future problems and their possible solutions – at Ars Electronica Center, more works by scientists who are reinventing our world are on show.

The festival-goers study the interactive works of art and science carefully. This exhibition, “RADICAL ATOMS” by MIT Media Lab’s Tangible Media Group, will be on display for a year after the festival is over.

While visitors are slowly making their way through the exhibitions, a final press conference is held right at POSTCITY. Horst Hörtner, Martin Honzik, Klaus Luger, Christine Schöpf and Gerfried Stocker (from left to right) are looking back on five intense festival days.
It is hard to find concluding words with a festival as big as this: 534 events, 382 cooperations, and 842 artists and scientists from 50 countries is the final count. In the video above, you can see a few impressions that will make you wish that the festival were just a little bit longer…

The CyberArts exhibition at OK Center for Contemporary Art is still on display for a bit longer – you can see the award-winning works of the 2016 Prix Ars Electronica until September 18, 2016.
