From September 3 to 7, 2025, Linz will once again become a hotspot for the international media art scene. Exhibitions, performances, concerts and conferences will be held at festival locations throughout the city, most of them at POSTCITY, the festival’s central venue.

First details on the opening
The festival week begins on Wednesday, September 3, at 7:30 p.m. with an opening event that will transform St. Mary’s Cathedral and its forecourt into stages for contemporary music, orchestral pieces, choral singing, organ music, and unusual performances.

From April to mid-August, we will gradually publish all the details of this year’s program. The press conference on the highlights of the Ars Electronica Festival will take place at the end of August.

Since 1979, the Ars Electronica Festival has been all about art, technology and society. From exhibitions, concerts and performances to talks and workshops – here’s what you can expect.
The Ars Electronica Festival 2025 takes place from WED 3.9. until SUN7.9. at several locations in the city center of Linz, Austria. Numerous exhibitions, concerts, talks, conferences, workshops and guided tours are part of the program and can be experienced.
POSTCITY Linz once again serves as the central festival venue and hotspot. Other participating venues include the Ars Electronica Center (AEC), Anton Bruckner Private University, Atelierhaus Salzamt, Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz, the Stadtwerkstatt (STWST), St. Mary’s Cathedral Linz, OK – Offenes Kulturhaus OÖ, FC – Francisco Carolinum Linz and the University of Art and Design Linz

Tickets can be purchased online now, or on-site at POSTCITY during the festival. We recommend buying tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the ticket counters. Please note: The FESTIVALPASS+, FESTIVALPASS, and DAY PASS must be exchanged for a badge at the Pick-Up Counter at the INFO DESK in POSTCITY. The POSTCITY Exhibition Ticket must be exchanged for a daily wristband.
As every year, create your world is an essential part of the Ars Electronica Festival. The program is explicitly tailored to the young audience and as usual, will invite children and young people to participate.
An overview of accommodations in Linz can be found on the platform of LINZ TOURISMUS. Weekend packages for city travelers are available here. We recommend international guests to book their accommodation early and check the entry requirements to Austria in advance.
