STEAM Imaging III
Ars Electronica and the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS collaborated for a third edition of the STEAM Imaging program, which brought together scientists, students, and artists to overcome disciplinary boundaries, discover flexible forms of learning and collaboration, and learn to work effectively with new technologies.
Activities organized in collaboration with the International Fraunhofer Talent School, Schulzentrum Walle Bremen, and UCLA ArtSci Center in Los Angeles focused on blending STEAM teaching with interdisciplinary on-site and online methods for an exploration of digital medicine and the human body.
LA-based, Bulgarian intermedia artist and researcher Eli Joteva developed “IntraBeing” – a work that unfolds the potential of intra-active relationships between material reality and virtual models in digital medicine and our extrasensory environments. The project explored the measuring and modeling capacities of medical imaging and simulation techniques to re-imagine the enigmatic spaces at the limits of their resolution and computation.
