The “School of the Future Festival” in Tokyo, Japan, is an extracurricular place with inspiring impulses of media art, which should not only entertain, but also stimulate reflection on the future of our society. For five days, from February 20 to 24, 2020, Tokyo Midtown and Ars Electronica will be staging this festival format for the second time with exhibitions, performances, guided tours, workshops and lectures amidst the pulsating hustle and bustle of the Tokyo Midtown building complex. “Dappi” is the theme of this festival – a Japanese term for “skinning”, which is synonymous with discarding stereotypes, gathering courage for change and overcoming the status quo.
