University of Arts Linz x Ars Electronica: TIME OUT.13
(Linz, January 14, 2025) The 13th edition of the TIME OUT exhibition series opens tonight at 6:00 p.m. at the Ars Electronica Center. On display are the works of students from the department of Time-based and Interactive Media Arts at the University of Arts Linz. Two dance performances will accompany the opening event.

European Union Prize for Citizen Science: Open for Submissions
(Linz, January 10, 2025) The European Union Prize for Citizen Science honors initiatives that promote exchange between science and the general public and contribute to an inclusive society through collaborative research approaches. Submissions are open until March 10, 2025.

Submissions Open for Prix Ars Electronica 2025
(Linz, January 7, 2025) Entries for the Prix Ars Electronica 2025 can be submitted in four categories from today through Wednesday, March 5, 2025. In addition, there is the Isao Tomita Special Prize and the Ars Electronica Award for Digital Humanity.

Family Days in Advent and vacation program
(Linz, December 9, 2024) On the third weekend of Advent, the Ars Electronica Center invites you to the Family Days (December 14-15). Under the motto “Winterwunderzauber”, guided tours and hands-on stations can be tried out throughout the museum. Fun and variety are also guaranteed during the Christmas holidays.

Notre-Dame Immersive at Deep Space 8K
(Linz, November 28, 2024) On December 7 and 8, Paris will celebrate the reopening of Notre-Dame. Anyone who wants to marvel at the world-famous cathedral in Linz will have to come to the Ars Electronica Center on Sunday, December 8: Notre-Dame Immersive will take visitors on a 3D tour of the venerable Parisian church.

Exhibition Opening: Connected Earth at the Ars Electronica Center
(Linz, November 13, 2024) Today the Ars Electronica Center opens its new exhibition Connected Earth. In cooperation with the Austrian Climate and Energy Fund, the exhibition presents interactive artistic works and scientific stations that shed light on the interrelationships in the Earth’s ecosystem.

(Linz, November 7, 2024) The Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF), Ars Electronica and the OeAD are jointly presenting the Media Literacy Award 2025. The award recognizes innovative teaching projects in Austria in the field of media education and digital learning.

CultTech x Ars Electronica Award 2024 for “Escape Fake”
(Linz/Vienna, November 6, 2024) The winners of the CultTech x Ars Electronica Award 2024 have been announced: The collective Polycular (AT) receives 10,000 euros in prize money and long-term mentoring for the further development of its innovative AR game Escape Fake. One honorary mention was also awarded.

SHARESPACE Open Call: Hybrid Spaces for Humans and Avatars
(Linz, October 22, 2024) The EU research project SHARESPACE has launched a new open call for media artists with an XR focus. The project is looking for creatives to explore the potential of hybrid spaces and XR technologies in the Deep Space 8K in Linz. The Ars Electronica Futurelab will support the process.

Ars Electronica Festival 2024 with Record
(Linz, September 9, 2024) 1,260 artists, scientists, developers, entrepreneurs and activists from 67 countries were guests in Linz over the past five days and contributed to Ars Electronica 2024. 10 official and another 8 featured locations were used and 498 events were offered. With more than 112,000 visits, this festival surpassed all previous ones.

(Linz, September 3, 2024) Linz Kunstuni Campus celebrates the Ars Electronica Festival with a tower, a solar-powered galley and tube amplifiers: From 3 to 8 September, more than eighteen university departments will be active in the Linz city center.
