School Holiday Program at the Ars Electronica Center: Into the Universe and the Microcosm

Ars Electronica Festival 2024 with Record
(Linz, September 9, 2024) 1,260 artists, scientists, developers, entrepreneurs and activists from 67 countries were guests in Linz over the past five days and contributed to Ars Electronica 2024. 10 official and another 8 featured locations were used and 498 events were offered. With more than 112,000 visits, this festival surpassed all previous ones.

Prix Ars Electronica Exhibition 2024

Open Call: CultTech x Ars Electronica Award 2024

State of the ART(ist) 2024 – winners presented
(Linz/Vienna, July 22, 2024) In 2024, the State of the ART(ist) initiative is once again supporting artists who are exposed to political, social or ecological threats and are taking a stand against them. Vacation program at the Ars Electronica Center: Space exploration and duels at the Robo-Playground
(Linz, July 1, 2024) Just in time for the end of school, the Ars Electronica Center is launching a refreshing program for children aged six and up. Between July 16 and August 23, there will be weekly changing hands-on activities on the “timetable”.

S+T+ARTS PRIZE AFRICA ’24: Grand Prize for “Balot NFT” by the Congolese initiative CATPC
(Linz/Brussels, June 25, 2024) The first STARTS Prize Africa received 405 submissions from 35 countries. The European Commission’s new initiative aims to promote innovation in Africa and future cooperation between Africa and Europe. The Grand Prize worth 15,000 euros goes to the project Balot NFT by the Congolese initiative CATPC.

S+T+ARTS PRIZE ’24 for “Arts at CERN” and “Calculating Empires”
(Linz/Brussels, June 24, 2024) 1,308 submissions from 81 countries were received for the European Commission’s STARTS Prize in 2024. The “Grand Prize – Innovative Collaboration” goes to the Arts at CERN program. The “Grand Prize – Artistic Exploration” was awarded to the project “Calculating Empires” by Kate Crawford and Vladan Joler.

Golden Nicas for artists from Great Britain, France, Austria and the USA
(Linz, June 17, 2024) 2950 entries from 95 countries were submitted to the Prix Ars Electronica. The winners of four Golden Nicas, 12 Awards of Distinction, 38 Honorary Mentions, an Award for Digital Humanity and three main prizes have now been announced.

Ars Electronica Solutions designs interactive installations for Linz Innovation Hub
(Linz, June 13, 2024) The Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce celebrated the reopening of its “House of Economy” in the center of Linz yesterday, 12 June 2024. The highlight of the remodeled building is the Innovation Hub with forty interactive screens co-designed by Ars Electronica Solutions.

European Union Prize for Citizen Science 2024 goes to “INCREASE”
(Linz/Brussels, June 12, 2024) Citizen Science aims to involve committed citizens in scientific processes. Projects that achieve this in an exceptional way are honoured with the European Union Prize for Citizen Science. This year, the INCREASE initiative prevailed out of 288 submissions.
