IT:U PopUp Store

Pfarrgasse 1 / Ecke Hauptplatz, 4020 Linz

How does digital technology shape our lives โ€“ our care systems, our communication, our democracy? IT:U, Europeโ€™s new university for digital transformation, presents two research-based artistic positions that explore how deeply technology is embedded in the fabric of society. “Caring Robots” asks: Can robots care? Should they? In this interactive exhibit, visitors can engage with an AI-based conversational system developed for people with dementia in care homes. The project invites critical reflection on the role, limits, and responsibility of “caring AI.” “Mapping Conspiracies” visualises the spatial dynamics of conspiracy theories, hate speech, and anti-democratic rhetoric on social media. Through interactive maps, visitors can explore how online narratives travel across regions and reveal patterns of influence and connection. On Thursday evening, we get personal: at “Meet the Minds” (5โ€“9 p.m.), IT:U opens its space for direct conversations with its researchers. No stage, no slides โ€“ just ideas, questions, and people. The “IT:U exhibition” highlights how digital transformation is never neutral. It shapes the ways we live, think, and connect. We aim to not only observe this transformation โ€“ but to co-create it. Critically. Collectively. And in public.
