POSTCITY Exhibition Ticket

The POSTCITY exhibition ticket provides access to all exhibition areas in POSTCITY on the respective day, in particular to the ground floor and basement. NOT included is the ticket for the Big Concert Night, Nightline, other concerts in the Train Hall, workshops and conferences, as well as the access to other festival venues. Those event tickets can be purchased separately online.

The POSTCITY exhibition ticket must be exchanged for a wristband at the pick-up counter at the INFODESK at POSTCITY.

Admission for children and adolescents up to and including the age of 19 is free of charge (children and adolescents under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult). Nevertheless, a POSTCITY exhibition ticket u19 must be purchased online or on site at the INFODESK for € 0,- for accessing the exhibition areas, in particular to the ground floor and basement.

Every visitor with an Ars Electronica Center (AEC) ticket receives reduced admission to POSTCITY on the same day and vice versa. AEC annual pass holders also receive reduced admission to POSTCITY.

Visitors of the Ars Electronica Center as well as visitors of POSTCITY receive reduced admission to the Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz, OK – Offenes Kulturhaus OÖ and FC – Francisco Carolinum Linz on the same day, and vice versa.

How can we deal with panic in such turbulent times – and what can we learn from it? This year’s thematic exhibition PANIC – yes/no presents artistic perspectives on fear, loss of control, and states of emergency – but also on the power that can emerge from moments of panic. The guided tour through the POSTCITY bunker sheds light on panic not only as a disruptive force, but also as a potential catalyst for change. It highlights the important role artists play in making emotional and societal crises visible and in opening up new spaces for thought.

BIG CONCERT NIGHT

The Big Concert Night in the Train Hall of POSTCITY will take place in commemoration of the end of World War II 80 years ago. The chamber opera Der Kaiser von Atlantis or Die Tod-Verweigerung, created 1943/44 by Viktor Ullmann and Peter Kien in the Theresienstadt ghetto, will be staged in an interplay of orchestral music and scenically visualized performance. The production is a cooperation between Ars Electronica, the Filharmonie Brno, the Landestheater Linz, and the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna (mdw).

Please note that the chamber opera “Der Kaiser von Atlantis” will be performed during the Big Concert Night on FRI, 5.9., and again at Der Kaiser von Atlantis on SAT, 6.9.

Admission begins at 19:00 and ends at 20:00 with the start of the event, late admission is NOT possible. A prologue will take place during admission (19:00-20:00).

Please note: Tickets for the Big Concert Night are limited. FESTIVALPASS+ holders have access to the concert and don’t require separate registration.

NIGHTLINE

Every year, the festival invites you to dance and party on Friday night with experimental and special music acts at the Ars Electronica Nightline. This year there will once again be the opportunity to dance the night away at this special event. 

Tickets are available online now, at the INFODESK from WED 3.9., as well as at the box office on FRI 5.9. in the evening. 

FESTIVALPASS+ and FESTIVALPASS holders have access to the event. The DAYPASS for FRI 5.9. also grants free access to the Nightline.

DER KAISER VON ATLANTIS

On Saturday, again the chamber opera Der Kaiser von Atlantis or Die Tod-Verweigerung by Viktor Ullmann and Peter Kien will be performed in the Train Hall – a work created in 1943/44 in the Theresienstadt ghetto.
