Austrian Panorama showcases recent animation works by Austrian artists or those living and working in Austria. The selection opens with an experimental, AI-driven animation that reinterprets the dark, melancholic art of Upper Austrian artist Klemens Brosch. The second piece, Limen, is a contemplative meditation on societal powerlessness and despair amid rising xenophobia and the unrestrained spread of propaganda through media. Seedless Fruits addresses societal issues with a satirical edge, taking viewers on a journey through a crumbling corporate headquarters while critiquing neoliberal office culture and the alienation of labor within a profit-driven system. Finally, Dagmar Schürrer’s film Where does the rest of the world begin? delves into the profound interconnectedness of organic and inorganic life, digital and analog realms, human and technology, nature and culture—inviting us to rethink individuality in an increasingly hybrid world.
