Participation, solidarity, and the question of how we want to live and work together as a society are at the heart of this installation. It makes tangible how individual decisions shape collective developments. The Collective Machine invites visitors to create their vision of a future world of work.
At two interactive stations, visitors communicate with fictional works council members and answer questions by throwing balls. Multiple people can vote simultaneously and jointly discuss topics such as wages, working hours, job security, and new technologies. All responses flow into a central centerpiece that uses LED lights, sound, and visuals to make the impact visible.
This is an adapted version of the Voting Machine, a highlight installation in the Future Room of the Museum Arbeitswelt and part of the LABOUR LAB.
