Humans is a collaborative performance created by Isabella Lee Arturo, who employs the methodology of “Embodying and Humanizing” data to understand the human cost of asymmetrical armed conflicts. In collaboration with Mahla Mosah and Martin Müller, this artwork consist of the three artists repeating the word “human” 60,000 times. This number is the estimated death toll in the ongoing armed conflict in Gaza derived from a peer-reviewed report published in The Lancet journal at the beginning of 2025.

  • Chair of Media Environments in the Faculty of Media Art and Design, Bauhaus Universität Weimar

Referring to environment as the concept deriving from an artistic practice of the nineteen-fifties that emphasizes the mismatch between life and art, the Media Environments Research Chair (GMU) aims to redesign everyday situations, objects, devices, and practices. Through transdisciplinary experimentation with art, technology, biology, and nature, we aim to challenge our own self-conceptions in a rapidly changing world.
