Sewing an eye mask

Nähküche. Eine Offene Nähwerkstatt (AT)

Under the motto If I don’t see it, I don’t have to panic. the Nähküche invites visitors to sew eye masks. Using this ironic approach, the project encourages reflection: instead of turning a blind eye to the challenges of our time, we should face them head-on.
Inspired by the film Don’t Look Up, the project highlights that denial is not a solution. Visitors are welcome to create their own masks and join in reflecting on how we can actively engage with the problems facing our world.

  • Nähküche. Eine Offene Nähwerkstatt

The Nähküche – Eine offene Nähwerkstatt has been addressing the fast-fashion madness in its social, cultural, and ecological dimensions for more than twelve years. It encourages individuality, appreciation of textile resources, and the joy of learning and developing handicraft skills. Textiles are given a second life, and knowledge is shared.
