The musical visualization of The Rite of Spring by media artist Klaus Obermaier and Ars Electronica is a 21st-century update of Igor Stravinsky’s revolutionary 1931 ballet. Through the use of state-of-the-art technology, the interplay of real, virtual and musical spheres complements the composition’s numerous tonal and rhythmic innovations. The audience thus witnesses a staged performance that is truly trailblazing, one that attains a level of quality and intensity that matches the power and impact of this work’s highly controversial premiere. Ars Electronica Solutions presented this spectacular music visualization in China for the first time.
