Ars Electronica Solutions is part of the Future Cities Laboratory

In 2010, the promising collaboration between ETH Zurich and the National Research Foundation of Singapore began around the two thematic blocks “Future Cities Laboratory” and “Future Resilient Systems”. The aim is to explore, understand and actively respond to the challenges of global ecological sustainability. CIVAL – Collaborative Interactive Visualisation and Analysis Laboratory – sees itself as a tool for data visualisation and simulation and has been bringing together various projects and disciplines on the topic since 2015.

Michael Mondria, Senior Director of Ars Electronica Solutions was not only able to present the work of Ars Electronica in general, but also to present his long-standing focus on geo-referenced data visualization. The GeoCity at the Ars Electronica Center and the GeoPulse software will show important development steps in the field of geo-illustration.

With the start of Phase 2 in January 2019, an intensified cooperation between CIVAL and Ars Electronica Solutions is planned.
