Immersive theatre walk through a futuristic city
FUTURE ECHOES is an immersive theatre walk that takes the audience on a journey through a futuristic city. It will explore the concept of how our present actions and decisions can echo into the future. It is a theatre event that aims to think artistically with young people about the link between the use of technology and three fundamental values of life in society: human rights, democracy and law.
FUTURE ECHOES will consist of three elements:
An audio walk where different voices of young people will be heard on issues important to them.
The creation of a robot out of electronic trash that will explore the conflicts and potentials of future human-machine relationships.
Thirdly, performative perplexities that young people will work on together in Linz over the course of a week.
FUTURE ECHOES want to challenge young people to work on their own Constitution. They will search for articles that reflect on the use of technology. And they will write, in their own words, articles that they believe are important to help us regulate our relationship with technology and robots.
FUTURE ECHOES will be created by a collaborative group of young people from various European countries and the visitors of the Ars Electronica festival.
The festival will also be followed by a public dress rehearsal on September 11th at 18:00 and the final presentation on September 12th at 11:00 in the Volksgarten.

FUTURE ECHOES
FUTURE ECHOES brings together fifty young Europeans from eight PlayOn! Partner institutions. In Linz they experiment with new formats to extend theatre into public urban space with relevant stories and the involvement of young adults as co-creators.
PlayOn!
PlayOn! is a cooperation project announced by the European Commission under their Culture Funding Stream Creative Europe. PlayOn! was initiated by nine theatres and a university with high digital expertise. Eight universities from the creative digital sector are associated partners.
