Queer Synth Lab

Sounds Queer? Collective (AT)

Sounds Queer? collective invites the festival audience to a horizontal, pop-up synth lab organized as a picnic with various synthesizers arranged on blankets on the floor. The idea is to create a cozy, comfortable place that invites playfulness and casual explorations. We will also prepare various microphones and Touch Board set up where participants will be able to upload their own samples and create a tentacle-like installation with random conductive objects. Secondly, each day we plan a happy hour, meaning a more structured event:

Deep Listening Session: Inspired by Pauline Oliveros; we offer a collective meditation on sound using the artist’s iconic writing.

Gentle Feedback: We encourage the community to bring unfinished tracks and pick the brains of the group on how to proceed. We welcome constructive criticism.

Ableton Users Meet Up: SQ has organized AUB meet-ups since 2022 in collaboration with Ableton. This is a place to share tips and tricks regarding this DAW in a horizontal and peer-to-peer manner.

Exquisite Corpse: The jam session would be the first tryout of a new format of collective music creation following a well-known game scheme.
