See and experience how the climate affects the weather on impressive glaciers such as the Großglockner: That’s what the Glockner.Luft.Raum, devised by the Ars Electronica Futurelab, in the new kärnten.museum makes possible from November 20th in Klagenfurt, Austria.

Glockner.Luft.Raum transforms data and facts into an immersive experience, with visualizations and sounds, based on real-time generated atmospheric images derived from historical and live data. The wind conditions on the Großglockner are transmitted live and influence a digital soundtrack as well as a wind harp that sounds every ten minutes. Four narrative spaces invite you to explore: Warmth | A Space of Colors, Wind | An Ocean of Currents, Precipitation | A Universe of Energy and Flight | A Change of Perspective. It can all be experienced on a room-sized screen, while the historic Glockner relief serves as the center of the narrative journey.

The Ars Electronica Futurelab’s latest project is part of the re-imagining of the carinthian Rudolfinum Landesmuseum Klagenfurt as kärnten.museum.
