It was Japanese martial arts that led Peter Janssen to collect samurai art. Founder and collector Peter Janssen, scientific curator Martyna Lesniewska, designated museum director Alexander Jöchl, managing director Michael Mondria and overall project manager Ina Badics from Ars Electronica Solutions talk about how the collection began with a sword in an antiques market and how the passion for this Japanese culture developed, and how the permanent exhibition in the Berlin Samurai Museum will ultimately be implemented by 2022.
