Scientists at the University of California in Berkeley have created an interactive map that shows which brain areas react to hearing different words. It illustrates how language is distributed throughout the cerebral cortex and both hemispheres, by bundling groups of words according to their meaning. The video explains the interactive model, which makes it possible to explore the complex organization of the giant dictionaries in our heads.
