In November 2018 China‘s state news agency, Xinhua, presented its first AI newsreader.
Together with Sogou, a Chinese search engine, Xinhua developed these readers with the help of machine learning. It is meant to simulate the voice, facial expressions, and gestures of a human newsreader.
