With Kaiserschild Art Defined, the Kaiserschild Foundation is bringing works of art to life in a new way. It starts with works by Pieter Claesz, an artist from the foundation’s collection and a relevant representative of 17th century still life painting.

Three of his works have been digitised and edited to a high standard in collaboration with museum partners. The originals and digitised works will be on display at the Kunsthistorisches Museum from June 17, 2025. On July 8, the high-resolution images will be presented in Ars Electronica Deep Space 8K by Dr. Sandra Sonnleitner, Kaiserschild Foundation, and Dr. Stefan Albl, Universalmuseum Joanneum.

The Kaiserschild Foundation is also involved in street art and has taken the start of the Pieter Claesz exhibitions as an opportunity to have one of the artist’s works interpreted as asphalt art by street artists Jana&JS on a large surface in front of the New Town Hall in Linz. Following the presentation of the digitized Pieter Claesz still lifes at Ars Electronica Deep Space, this artwork will be officially unveiled together with Mayor Dietmar Prammer on the forecourt of the New Town Hall, Hauptstraße 1-5, 4041 Linz. We cordially invite you to attend!
