The first official Mühlviertel trail center, the Roadlberg trails in Ottenschlag im Mühlkreis and Alberndorf in der Riedmark, was officially opened in mid-2023. These hand-built single trails, which lead through the impressive mixed forests of the popular excursion mountain, were realized in a nature-friendly and collaborative way.
The project, initiated by MTB-Linz, is aimed specifically at families and beginners and has already been awarded the Upper Austrian Tourism Prize as a successful example of sustainable leisure experiences. The easily accessible and well-marked routes as well as the Radl-Schui practice area with six themed routes offer ideal conditions for first mountain bike experiences. In addition to the new project on the Linzerberg in Gallneukirchen, MTB-Linz provides insights into the construction diaries of the projects implemented to date. The current status will also be discussed and how a volunteer association has become the largest MTB trail maintainer in Upper Austria.
