The Monument Day is the Austrian contribution to the Europe-wide European Heritage Days initiative under the patronage of the Council of Europe and the European Union and has been coordinated annually by the Federal Monuments Office on the last Sunday in September since 1998. Preserving material cultural assets is the aim of heritage protection, making them accessible and understandable is our task at the Ars Electronica Center. With the help of the latest technology, we can make cultural heritage tangible for our visitors in Deep Space 8K on the 16 x 9 meter wall and floor projection. Motivation and mission enough to take part in this exciting project again this year.
