Our world is full of all kinds of machines. In the digital industrial age, they have a lot to do: building hardware, programming software—very serious business indeed. But in our workshop, there’s no shortage of fun! We combine a single-board computer, the BBC micro:bit, with a wide variety of materials, 3D printers, and laser cutters, and let our machine fantasies run wild. What machines would we want if they didn’t have to be efficient?
