recoveriX: Stroke Rehabilitation

g.tec medical engineering (AT)

recoveriX is a brain-computer interface used for neuro-rehabilitation of stroke patients.

It connects cognitive processes in the brain directly to hand or arm motions. recoveriX might, for example, direct a patient to imagine a hand motion. The motion is then reflected by virtual reality (VR) and carried out in real time by muscle stimulators (FES). The visual and tactile feedback improves the patients’ brain plasticity and supports the brain in re-learning hand motions.
