Realities in Transition

Realities in Transition (RiT) is an international community that aims to explore and support alternative Extended Reality (XR) productions and new narratives and creative processes. Realities in Transition works on building a strong, independent European XR creative and activist community, a think tank to tackle current and future challenges in the digital sector.

With Realities in Transition, Ars Electronica Platform Europe is able to embrace technological innovations of XR in artistic contexts, incubate new artworks, and envision educational approaches to this technological shift. The goal is to open a critical reflection on the evolving realities of the Technosphere and the positioning of the arts in the rapidly evolving market of virtual and augmented reality content production.

Hence, Ars Electronica’s participation in Realities in Transition predominantly centers on the development of education programs around artistic approaches to XR. In addition to XR workshops, expert engagement, and networking events at the Ars Electronica Festival, a workshop methodology booklet is being developed as part of this project.
