To carefully translate one of the Schaunberger Grabmal (Schaunberger tombs) from the Collegiate Church in Wilhering into a virtual object, the contactless process of photogrammetry was employed. This turned the tomb into an immersive 3D cultural experience in Deep Space 8K.
Profiles of white and red marble, unusual depictions of saints and plenty of unsolved mysteries: the tomb of 13th-century Schaunberger Wernhard IV from the Wilhering Collegiate Church was digitized by the Ars Electronica Futurelab and Digilithic following its restoration.
The colossal large format of Deep Space 8K reveals high-resolution details of the Schaunberger tomb, giving scientists from all over the world insights that are no longer accessible in this form in the original.
