A Deep Talk with Horst Hörtner, Susanne Kiesenhofer and Andreas J. Hirsch
Time is flying by, and it may be hard to believe but the Ars Electronica Futurelab – as think-and-do tank of the Ars Electronica – is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Since 1996 the Ars Electronica Futurelab has consistently located the human being at the center of art, technology and science. It considers the social aspects of science and technology and their impact on the future of our society. Despite the interesting times we are currently facing, this gathering will take the opportunity to remember the milestones in the last 25 years of the Futurelab and introduce our audience to new ways of creating and acting the future. In the upcoming time the Ars Electronica Futurelab will publish a series about the key projects it is working on. As the Kick-off event two members of the Lab give a sneak preview of what can be expected over the next couple of months.
Susanne Kiesenhofer, a researcher and developer – and one of the most recent members – and Host Hörtner, co-founder of the Ars Electronica Futurelab and managing director for meanwhile a quarter of a century present an introduction about a number of research activities that occur in the Lab. Together with Andreas J. Hirsch, author of Creating the Future – A Brief History of Ars Electronica and Gerfried Stocker, artistic director and co-CEO of Ars Electronica, they strive to provide unprecedented insights within a total of seven Home Delivery episodes that are recorded in the Deep Space 8K. These episodes will present several further 25th anniversary activities and give a glimpse into the work of the Ars Electronica Futurelab.
