“The New Digital Deal” is both the theme and the goal of this year’s Ars Electronica festival, which will take place from September 8 to 12. In 86 Ars Electronica Gardens around the globe, artists, scientists and activists will show us how to bring about a new way of dealing with the challenges of the 21st century. Their lectures, workshops, performances and tours are bundled online through Swapcard and made accessible to an international audience that is always invited to join in and get involved.
The highlights of this online festival at the interface of art, technology and society will be presented by Christl Baur (Head of the Ars Electronica Festival) and Gerfried Stocker (Artistic Director of Ars Electronica).
Also joining will be Kristefan Minski (Newcastle Garden / AU), Asako Tomura (Tokyo Garden / JP), Om’Oba Jerry Adesewo (Abuja Garden / NG), Aisling Murray (Dublin Garden / IE), Juan Pablo Vergara (Araucanía Garden / CL) and Victoria Vesna (UCLA Art Sci Center Garden / US).
