The impact of man on the geology and eco systems of earth is undeniable: Already since the dawn of agriculture and humanity’s sedentism we have left lasting traces, and these have become more and more formative and enduring through monumental events in the 20th century, such as the testing and use of atomic bombs. These influences don’t always take place on solid ground – the effects can also be witnessed dramatically on and under water. The gigantic freight ships that supply us globally with goods were visualised over the span of a year by Studio Kiln and illustrate a dense network that afflicts damage to the seas of the world with its fuel, noise pollution, and contamination of air and water.
