All times are given in Central European Summer Time (CEST / UTC +2).

Home Delivery starts with a program on “local heroes” and questions the home: Especially in the last few months, the home has taken on a special significance. We present personalities around Ars Electronica Linz who live, work and work from Linz and the surrounding area.

We’ll start off with Manuela Naveau, the director of Ars Electronica Export, and the artist duo DEPART – Leonhard Lass and Gregor Ladenhauf. Leo (born in Linz) and Gregor (born in Vienna) live and work from Vienna, where they are continually developing their shared vision of multimedia poetry. For this year’s Ars Electronica Festival, the artists will realize an oversized projection and a “Sound-and-Smoke” intervention for the Art University Linz on the Hauptplatz.

One of the main concerns of DEPART is the conception and realization of tendentially surreal immersions. In their many years of collaboration, the two artists have found an aesthetic approach and an audiovisual signature that allows them to create experiences that are strongly referential in their expression and can sometimes seem hermetic and enigmatic. At the same time, however, they try not to place too much emphasis on the use of complex algorithms and generative systems in order to be able to create situations of contemplative immersion and lyrical energy. The audience’s perception is thereby repeatedly overtaxed and put to the test. Linguistic experiments serve as a playground and etymological bridge between myths, rituals and contemporary technology. The magical effect of surprising, synchronous events, or the unexpected recombination or mutation of familiar symbols and metaphors and the attempt to use all these means to create moments as harmonious as possible are the driving forces behind DEPART’s artistic work.
