Glaciers adapt to climatic conditions and constantly change their extent. About 18,000 years ago, more than a third of the earth was still covered with ice. Today, the ice cover is about 10 percent of the earth’s surface. During this event, glaciologist Kay Helfricht from the Institute for Interdisciplinary Mountain Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences will answer your questions about glacier research and the state of glaciers.
