We project the small-scale works of the Dutch Renaissance artist Pierter Bruegel onto the large projection surface of Deep Space – as gigapixel images in which the smallest details can be zoomed in. One of his most famous works is the “Tower of Babel”. The original oil painting measures 114 cm x 155 cm. The projection surface in Deep Space alone measures 16 x 9 meters. Thanks to the high-resolution images of the works, which were produced on the initiative of the Viennese Kunsthistorisches Museum, it is also possible to find and enlarge almost invisible scenes in the paintings.
