We illuminate the analog beginnings of electronic sound production: Tone-producing oscillators, resonant filters, envelopes (ADSR), sequencers and a multitude of possibilities to influence and automate them with control voltage (CV).

Due to the standards for units of measurement and power supply that were established quite early, there is now a huge selection of modules from a wide variety of manufacturers as well as a distinct DIY scene.
In this experimental video, the basic synthesizer modules are used to show how the analog current signals are turned into tones using patch cables. The view through the oscilloscope shows how the waveforms change through human and electronic modulation.
