With the completion of the virtual nativity scene, Linz’s St. Mary’s Cathedral and the Ars Electronica Futurelab are hitting the spirit of our times: a digitized version of Sebastian Osterrieder’s Nativity ensemble delights with unfamiliar insights into the cultural-historical heritage. After many of the nativity figures could already be presented last year, the VR staging is now complete for the first time – including landscape and nativity architecture. Even after the feast, in the period around Epiphany, the virtual nativity scene has surprises in store with a whole range of new details.
