On the evening of September 9, Futurelab Day, the Accordion Noise and Visual Performance 11°22’4”142°35’5” by Stefan Mittlböck-Jungwirth-Fohringer and Johannes Poell set out to audiovisually explore an edge of this planet and took us down to the deepest point of the Mariana Trench as part of the Ars Electronica Futurelab’s Night Performances in Deep Space 8K. The result: A truly creative alliance from analog and digital frequency ranges.

The virtuosic accordion performance by Stefan Mittlböck-Jungwirth-Fohringer draws on his many years of artistic research with the honeybee. Johannes Poell, as his counterpart, convinces with generative frequency worlds, which he creates with the help of modular building blocks that serve him as acoustic and visual tools. Dive together with us to a liminal area of this very special evening!
