The inspiration for our theme originates from a Buddhist term — “zidu.” “Zì” means “oneself,” and “du” means “to cross”, literally translating to the act of crossing a river by oneself. In a broader philosophical sense within Buddhism, “zidu” means relying on one’s own strength, through internal effort and practice, to overcome difficulties, escape adversity.
