AI BIAS & BLOOD FOOD WORKSHOP

Dimension Plus (TW)

POSTCITY, First Floor, Workshop Room
Sun 8. Sep 2024 10:00 – 12:00

In globalized AI culture, resource allocation and biases often lead to text-to-image generation. Given the lack of cultural diversity in databases, AI may produce images that do not correspond to reality. This workshop will educate participants on the principles of text-to-image generation and its limitations.

Participants will make Taiwanese pig-blood cake to compare AI-generated images, highlighting the discrepancies and emphasizing the need for more inclusive AI development.

Meeting Point: Workshop Room

Dimension Plus is a new media art team based in Taiwan and Hong Kong, focusing on arts and technology, exploring the nature of art and science, and conducting cross-disciplinary experiments. Their works shuffle between old and new media, respond to propositions of ethics, society and culture with new technology, and project the introspection induced by technology with old media, or blending the old and the new, in order to continuously create and resist.
