When Anton Bruckner was born on September 4th 1824, light particles from the stars Scheat and Mirach started their journey to arrive on Earth on September 4th 2024. They traveled at 300,000 km/s and covered 200 light years. A look at the stars is therefore always a look into the past, as we see the stars today as they looked on Bruckner’s birthday.
The astronomers of the Kepler Observatory Linz will accompany you on a journey through the night sky this evening—both with the naked eye and through professional telescopes.
